With a career spanning thirty years in community based organizations, Charlene Sears-Tolbert now serves as the Director of Research & Development where she designs, develops, and implements progressive and evidence-based treatment modalities for the criminal justice population and their families. She has provided consultation, quality-improvement services, and program development to organizations worldwide. Charlene is a regular peer reviewer for Federal Funding Opportunities and a successful grant-writer, responsible for winning millions of dollars in federal and local funding for various community-based organizations.
Charlene studied Human Services Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston, before receiving a Master's degree with honors in Psychology from National Louis University. She has completed doctoral coursework in Organizational Psychology, and is an International Board Certified Addictions Counselor, and an Associate Professor of Psychology. She remains a life-long learner believing in the adage “people perish for lack of knowledge”.
After turning her life's own stumbling blocks to stepping stones, Charlene has made it her life’s mission to empowering others to do the same. Whether it is helping Community Based Organizations or individuals to reach their next level, Charlene’s goals are to: Inspire, Educate, and Motivate!
In addition to providing personal development coaching, she has extensive training in experiential therapy, and facilitates the international P3 workshop and Breakthrough Weekend– transformative personal growth courses. She is a writer, poet, author (When Relationships Hurt: 52 Ways to Heal), and sought-after motivational speaker who remains involved in her community as a mentor and volunteer.
Charlene is a native Floridian, and lives in Central Florida, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
